A Holistic way of Life
Microdermabrasion, (often referred to as Microderm), is a cosmetic procedure popular at Essential Retreat Spa. It is where Microdermabrasion tips covered in tiny diamonds polish the skin & gradually remove scarred or discolored epidermal tissue.
It not only refines the skin’s texture but it also lessens scars & sun spots, while diffusing the signs of aging. It is more effective when the scar is raised above the surrounding skin and less effective with sunken scars.
Can also be used for treatment of acne, but must be repeated periodically to be effective. However, it should not be used on clients who have taken the medication Accutane in the previous twelve months. (Accutane is a medication used for the treatment of moderate to severe acne).
Microdermabrasion is very mild procedure and does not require a doctor's prescription or approval. It requires no medical oversight and is commonly used in conjunction with facial spa treatments. The result is a glowing and youthful complexion.
